Fine and very rare stainless steel self-winding diver’s wristwatch with mark III dial. Date. Box and papers. Sold in 1971. The vivid red “submariner” inscription position at 6 o’clock on the dial of the reference 1680. Rolex’s first submariner model to be fitted with the date, makes it one of the most widely sought after of all vintage Rolex sports wristwatches. Launched in 1967 the red submariner is without a doubt an iconic watch. 
The present model with mark III dial impresses with its superb condition, strong case and bevels and beautiful cream indexes, furthermore, the light grey bezel give it an amazing touch and an exciting opportunity for a collector of vintage sport watches.
