Very fine and extremely rare, water-resistant, anti-magnetic, 18K yellow-gold wristwatch with round button chronograph, registers, and triple date calendar. Signed dial, case and movement.
Rolex’s Antimagnetic chronograph with triple date was produced in few examples from the mid 1940s to the early 1960s in 18K yellow or pink gold and in very few examples in stainless steel, with various dial designs and hand shapes and with 4 different references: In the mid 1940s: Ref. 4767—From 1948 to 1951: Ref. 5036—From 1951 to 1955: Ref 6036, so-called by collectors the “Killy watch” (after international ski champion Jean-Claude Killy, who first became famous in the 1960s). This reference was produced in 170 examples in yellow gold, 144 examples in pink gold and very few in stainless steel. From 1958 to 1962: Ref. 6236. This current example has been maintained in very good condition featuring an original dial.

Jean-Claude Killy (born August 30, 1943) A French Alpine skier and a triple Olympic champion. He was a World Cup champion in 1967 and again in 1968. Killy won the Triple Crown of Alpine Skiing with a sweep of all three gold medals at the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble, France, in the slalom, giant slalom and downhill events. He later even held a position on the Rolex board of directors.

Les chronographes antimagnétiques avec fonction triple-date de Rolex furent produits de 1940 à 1960 en or jaune ou rose 18k, ainsi que plus rarement en acier, avec diverses versions de cadrans et aiguilles. 4 versions distinctes existent, référence 4767 de 1948 à 1951, référence 5036 de 1951 à 1955, référence 6036 connue sous le nom de Killy de 1955 à 1958 faite en environ 170 exemplaires en or jaune, 144 en or rose et peu en acier, référence 6236 de 1958 à 1962. Cet exemplaire a été très bien conservé et est encore équipé de son cadran original. 
Jean-Claude Killy (né le 30 août 1943), skieur alpin et triple champion du monde. Il fut champion du monde en 1967 et 1968. Il gagna les 3 médailles d’or aux jeux Olympiques de Grenoble en 1968 dans les disciplines du slalom, slalom géant et descente. Il devint par la suite membre d’administration chez Rolex.
