The Porsche 930 turbo presented at Paris Motor Show 1974 was the first of the numerous generations of “911s Turbo”. Initially equipped with a 3.0 turbo engine of 260 horse power, it has quickly been upgraded with the 3.3 of 300 hp in 1977.

Once again, Dr. Fuhrmann adapted the turbo technology to the flat-6 engine, including an air-to-air intercooler in order to always get fresh inlet air to increase the performances. The car received as well a revised suspension, larger brakes, big fenders and a stronger gearbox to tame such power.

Another very famous aerodynamic part appeared on this model, the whale tail, adding more down force to the car at high speed, it helps to vent the engine too, in order to optimize the cooling. These features made the 930 the fastest German sport car of its time!
