One of the most elusive creations by Cartier, the Cristallor is believed to have been introduced to the brand's offerings in the early to mid 1970’s as an expansion upon the Tank collection, and it continued in production into the 1980’s. Production quantities were quite low and that is testified by the fact that other specimens appeared on the market had the exact same serial number all starting with "780960XXX" except for the last three digits indicating that they merely are within hundreds from each other. The two-body white gold case presents a triple-stepped case with cabochon sapphire-set winding crown in remarkable conditions. The white dial has the familiar radial black-painted Roman numerals and the ‘Paris’-sign below the 6-hour position indicating that this watch was bought at the Parisian Cartier boutique and the blue steel epée hands.
