From the mid-1930s, Hermès employed Swiss watchmaker Universal Genève as the brand’s first and exclusive designer of timepieces, producing a line of men’s wristwatches and women’s Art Deco cuff watches in various materials. The Hermès/Universal partnership lasted until the 1950s. The anchor motif is replicated in a silver case measuring 22 by 22 mm. The silver opaline dial features retro-styled printed baton numerals. Powered by a Swiss-made movement, time is told by the central hour and minute hands. The case back is engraved with the Hermès signature.
