The brand HYT was launched only in 2012 but has already gained a spot as one of the most interesting independent manufacturers in the field of watchmaking. Introduced in the same year, the H1 was the first wristwatch released by the firm at Baselworld and immediately making a statement through its groundbreaking innovative approach to tell time. The present example is one of the many new models launched at Baselworld 2014, enlarging the company’s portfolio and building on its continued commercial success. Its main peculiarity, despite the massive case in aluminum and titanium, is the way it tells the tie: it is in fact the first ever timepiece to tell time via fluid. A capillary tube encircles the dial of the HYT H1 Alumen Blue containing two liquids, an aqueous green one and a colorless oil-like liquid. These liquids are transported through a capillary tube, employing two pumps located at 6 o’clock and thanks to them is possible to read the time.
