Jack Heuer himself designed and launched the Carrera in 1963, as a simple-looking chronograph with minimalist applied baton hour markers and very clean chronograph registers. The present lot is a truly nice and fair reference 3647 made in stainless steel in great conditions. In production only until 1969, this Carrera has a sporty and elegant case with thick profile, sharp edges and solid massive lugs. It features the first execution silver dial with a red tachymeter scale and at 9 o’clock the sub-dial with the small second and at 3 o’clock the 45-minute counter of the chronograph. The heart of this vintage wristwatch is the reliable manual wind caliber Valjoux 92.
