Vacheron Constantin came up with highly creative and unusual case designs during the dynamic period of the 1950s offering an alternative to classical dress wristwatches. These innovative designs gave birth the incredibly unusual and never seen before reference 4709 she as the present watch. Nicknamed “Helm” because of its likeness to a ship’s rudder, this intricate watch boasts a case manufactured by none other than C. Markowsky, known for imaginative designs and the highest level of craft. Later versions came with center seconds while first ones, such as the present watch, featured a subsidiary seconds. This very model in yellow gold is preserved in incredible and pleasant conditions with still all its original and hard edges. The black dial has very beautiful triangle hours markers with baton hands nicely preserved.
