The reference 116 523 was the first stainless steel and yellow-gold Daytona chronograph to feature Rolex’s new in-house caliber 4130, replacing the famed Zenith El Primero caliber 4030. The steel 40 mm Oyster case is ringed by the distinctive Daytona gold bezel and a steel case. While adding weight and importance to the watch, this choice of materials, steel and 18k gold, grants it an extremely elegant look and represents the most versatility compared to all its steel and all gold stable mates. The present watch is a fine example of the two-tone Rolex Daytona with its stainless steel case and engraved gold bezel with gold screw down pushers. The watch is sporty yet elegant with its glossy black dial is untouched and is gorgeous with the red Daytona signature and the applied yellow-gold baton numerals.
