The Cartier Santos had its first beginnings in 1904 when Louis Cartier created a watch for his friend, the Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont. The lot here offered is an exponent of the Santos Octagon family, exponent of the 1990s trend for clean dial designs timepieces and geometric shapes in the cases. The present timepiece embodies, nearly archetypically, all these traits with a yellow gold really unusual case, preserved in very nice conditions. Its octagonal bezel and case are fully realized in yellow-gold with 8 round screws and sapphire cabochon. The white dial has the iconic and classical Cartier layout with black Roman numbers and steel blue hands that boost the appeal of this elegant lady’s timepiece.
