Reference 3588 was launched in 1970 and produced until around 1980. It was the first Patek Philippe to use the LeCoultre based 28–255 calibre, at the time considered the best and flattest self-winding one. The reference was offered with various different dials, bezels and bracelets. The present lot features a flat bezel and always charming silvered sunburst dial. The indexes are very elegant with Roman numerals in black, similar in the style to the baton hands. The watch has a very well preserved yellow-gold case with straight thin lugs, snap on back and is further offered with its original box and certificate.
