Launched in 1981, the Rolex GMT-Master reference 16 750 succeeded the enduring reference 1675. While its appearance largely remained the same, this transitional version introduced several subtle technical improvements. Among the key upgrades was the new caliber 3075, operating at a higher frequency of 28 800 vibrations per hour, enhancing its accuracy over the previous 19 800 bph. Additionally, the model featured a quick-set date function and an increased water resistance, rising from 50 meters to 100 meters. The present early example, from circa 1982 is distinguished by a matte dial that lacks the white gold surrounds around the hour markers. Its rarity is further enhanced by the beautifully aged lume, which has developed a charming vivid cream hue, making it a prime example of a sought-after vintage Rolex. Further preserved in great overall condition, the present Rolex GMT-Master reference 16 750 is further accompanied by its original presentation box and literature.
