This particular Omega 'Calatrava' dress watch dates back to the 1940s and features what was considered an oversized 38 mm snapback case for its time. Boasting a silvered dial, this example embodies the desired qualities of a wristwatch from the end of the Art Deco era. The stainless steel case has been very well preserved over the years, maintaining nice proportions. The brushed silvered dial displays painted Arabic numerals, with blue indications for the 24 hours. An unusual and charming feature is the decoration between each set of five numerals, consisting of three small yellow segments. From its crisply printed stylized logo to its oversized subsidiary seconds register, this is unquestionably a very special watch for the discerning collector.
