During the Second World War, Rolex launched what is considered to be the first Oyster Chronograph, the ref. 4500. This particular model is one of the very few Oyster chronographs produced by Rolex that features only a 30-minute counter, omitting the 12-hour register. The offered specimen is manufactured in stainless steel and has been finely preserved with nice proportions. It boasts an intriguing and attractive black dial with a telemeter scale and a patina that has slowly spread all around, creating a very appealing effect. On this black background, the gold applied indexes and hands stand out beautifully. With its combination of a stainless steel case and an aged dial, this watch represents a highly attractive collector's timepiece.
