The Movado Celestograf, also known as the Astrograph in the American market, can be described as a more complex version of the Movado Calendograf. In addition to the triple calendar features, it includes the added bonus of moon phases. Produced between 1947 and 1954, it is driven by calibre 473. The example offered here is reference 14922 in gold and steel, very nicely preserved, with the iconic turtle-form lugs. The two-tone dial features applied gold Breguet numerals and bears the signature of Wright, Kay & Co., a merchandiser of silver tableware and fine jewelry based in Detroit between ‘800 and ‘900.
