Among Universal Genève creations, the family of Tricompax, Bicompax, and Compax certainly stands out. The present lot is a magnificent representative of the latter. One of the main rarities of this watch is represented by the black gilt dial and its fascinating radium Arabic numerals and hands, both aged well yet retaining their original charm, contrasting with the very fresh tachometer scale at the base. The massive, oversized 46 mm case is a perfect example of excellent preservation, with still sharp edges and square chronograph buttons that remain almost untouched. Accompanied by an extract from the Universal Genève Archives confirming the production of the present watch in steel in 1942, this timepiece is not only a collector's dream but also a testament to Universal Genève's enduring legacy of quality and craftsmanship.
