The Beta-21 movement was released at the Basel Fair in April 1970: to house the large rectangular shape of the movement was, of course, necessary a big size case; thus Piaget gave life to reference 14 101 such as the present lot. The stunning and substantial solid gold watch impresses for its quality and the richly contrasting lapis lazuli dial and full 18K gold Piaget bracelet. Nowadays and in the past years the combination of yellow gold and lapis lazuli has always been so much appreciated by collectors and passionate, moreover, when preserved in this way considering the fact that this specific hard stone could crack easily. To further embellish tis watch a remarkable yellow gold with bark decoration nicely preserved.
