Introduced in 1968, the Golden Ellipse certainly is one of the most instant recognizable design out of the Patek Philippe collection thanks to its bold shape and glamorous proportions. The present reference 3589 has a white-gold case finely preserved and fitted with a deep royal blue dial and applied baton numerals. It is, furthermore, powered by the LeCoultre based movement cal. 28–255, one of the most appreciated automatic movements at its time. The lot is offered with the Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in white gold in 1973 and its subsequent sale on 20th September 1973.
