During the World War II period, the main need was to create massive and rigid objects able to meet the needs of the period and setting aside aesthetics for a while. Rolex, as it has often done in its history, has found a way to go a little against this current as in 1942 decided to launch, among their various models, the beautiful reference 4062 with its delicate and elegant style. Always without going against its main dictates of creating sports watches, this chronograph remained in production until around 1963 and was cased in a variety of metals, ranging from yellow gold, pink gold, stainless steel, steel and gold combinations. Also know has coin-edge for the particular band which recalls the border of a coin, to furthermore complement this pink-gold case with snap on back, the square pushers and 4 fancy slim lugs. Featuring a very rare pink dial with pulsation in good conditions with an aged patina with applied dot and Roman numeral markers. The telemetre and tachometre scales are precisely painted and slightly faded, attesting to the dial’s originality. This watch has a near perfect symmetry and balance make this watch stand out amongst Rolex chronographs.
