This specimen of reference 765 CP represents an extremely intriguing variation of the “standard” version of the classic Breitling Co-Pilot Chronograph model. Reference 765 CP was launched in 1965 as an update of the AVI model and around the same time this variation with regatta countdown timer was also introduced, featuring bezel and a 15-minute counter color-coded so that the 15-minute countdown to the start of the race can be followed on both independently. This watch measures a large 41 mm: the heavy all-steel case does not appear to have ever been polished and still shows its original bevels with very few superficial scratches. There are very few superficial scratches and some nicks commensurate with a very lightly worn 48-year-old tool watch – Fantastic vintage condition overall. The screwed steel back shows its original Breitling nomenclature of the period including the correct 765 CP reference. The anodized aluminum rotating yachting bezel is in fantastic condition but very slightly faded. Absolutely in near-mint condition, the matte black yachting dial with red and blue highlights, white printing and finely calibrated track is definitely charming.
