The Rolex GMT Master was first introduced in 1954 with the reference 6542, but the model is still manufactured today and during all these years multiple examples have been produced featuring different dials, sizes and used materials. The present example is one of the latest versions of the GMT-Master II from Rolex, with the reference 116710BLNR launched in 2013, called Batman from the collectors by its most distinguished feature, the ceramic black and blue bezel, a color combination never before seen on a GMT. The GMT-Master II utilizes a movement that has the additional capability of an independently adjustable hour hand, which can be adjusted in one-hour increments without stopping the second hand or disturbing the minute hand or 24-hour hand. A great success for this watch, with the addition of a short production, in fact, it was replaced in 2019 with the presentation of its successor, making it increasingly rare to find on the market, a real collector’s item. Its rarity is further enhanced by its extremely well preserved original condition with very sharp lines and beveled edges to the case accompanied by a Rolex Warranty Card and box.
