Launched in 1938 and still available in Patek Philippe catalogues some thirty years later in the late 1960s, the reference 2292 such as the present lot is the lady’s version of Ref. 425, the vintage rectangular wristwatch. Its chic and elegant look with a two body, faceted sides, bombè case that’s flat on the bottom and arches over the top is in yellow gold and has been preserved nicely with a classic argentè dial bearing applied gold baton indexes and hands. The watch is also equipped with a fancy bracelet with external rectangular links and inner fine mesh. The lot is offered with the Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in yellow gold in 1956 and its subsequent sale on 2nd March 1957.
