The present lot is one of only 7 examples known of reference 544, to the best of our knowledge, to present a steel and pink gold case also bearing a pink salmon dial. It is a rare reference in production only from 1938 till circa 1948 and this very lot, manufactured in 1939, is still very well preserved with sharp edges, smooth bezel and closed, stepped lugs. The dial offers applied baton indexes, seconds at 6 o’clock and the long Patek Philippe & Co. signature is still genuine and perfectly preserved after all these years.
