Reference 2554 made by Patek Philippe such as the present watch is one of the most appreciated by collectors, launched in 1952, it was available in yellow, rose and white gold in addition to platinum. The present watch is one of the most interesting examples: fully realized in 18k yellow gold with a gorgeous, well preserved and solid bracelet in yellow and white gold, the case has been conserved amazingly. The dial is already rare for its 18K bicolor gold (yellow and white) dial with applied gold indexes set with four baguette-cut sapphires and eight round-cut sapphires, a very unusual feature to be found on such a watch. The caliber is the iconic manually wound 9“’90 one of Patek Philippe’s most highly regarded form movements. A true piece of collection, this lot is an opportunity not to be wasted by possessing an extremely fascinating object. Accompanied by a Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1966.
