Rolex has always had the action and adventures as main topics for its creation such as the Submariner, Daytona or GMT Master but one of those who failed to gain the importance it deserved is precisely the Explorer. It was 1971 when the first Explorer II reference 1655 was presented such as the lot here offered. The three-body tonneau case with screw-down back and crown, the 24-hour graduated bezel and its large, luminescent 24-hour hand arrow don’t show any signs of wearing but are still in perfect conditions, like the black dial, covered by plexiglass. This timepiece is undoubtedly one of the most instantly recognizable pieces of our time.
