Triple calendars are complicated watch showing the date, day and month as well as sometimes including a full chronograph, as on this specimen of Datocompax reference 2558. From the 1940s, they would become mainstays of Heuer production for the next couple of decades, offering a dress watch whilst maintaining the functionality of the more overtly sporty models. The lot here offered is a wonderful and charming example made with a solid and well-preserved yellow-gold case with thin lugs and snap on back. The dial has a pink color with applied dot and 12 Arabic numerals, three big subsidiary dials for 30 minutes, 12 hours registration and constant seconds. At 12 o’clock the two windows for day and month while the date is on the outer part of the dial.
