For nearly 70 years now, the Day-Date has been an icon of luxury and sophistication for the 20th and 21st centuries watch connoisseurs. Among the most collectable of all Day-Dates are ones fitted with lacquer “Stella” dials, such as the present specimen. This reference 1803 in yellow gold is in astonishing conditions with a great president bracelet. Rolex experimented with many clouds for Stella dials and one of the most graceful and at the same time appreciated by collectors is the orange one. The lot here offered watch has a vivid orange dial with rare variant of applied baton indexes instead of diamonds. But the main peculiarity is the customization for the Sultanate of Oman with the gilt Khanjar at 9 o’clock still untouched. Further preciousness is the Arab day and date calendar, a true gem for the Day-Date aficionados.
