Since 1738, Jaquet Droz has perpetuated the spirit of innovation and aesthetic refinement of its founder, Pierre Jaquet-Droz. Inventor of some fabulous humanoid automata and precious musical watches, the brand is nowadays known allover the world for the baldness and efficiency of its creations. The here offered specimen is part of the limited edition family of “Les Douze Villes”: this reference J010124202 is equipped with the double complication of jump hours and world time powered by the automatic caliber 3663.C4. The three-body case has been manufactured in 18k white gold with transparent back, rounded band and bezel, curved concave lugs and button at 2 o’clock o set the world time, all preserved in fair and nice conditions. The ivory-white dial with stepped inner circle presents a small window at 6 o’clock to display a total of 12 time zones: Geneve, Istanbul, Moscow, Dubai, Aspen, Mexico, New York, Shanghai, Tokyo, Sydney, Azores, London. The time is told thanks to another window at 12 o’clock with the over mentioned complication of “Jumping Hours”. With outer black track for minutes and indicated the limited number 87/88, the present lot is extremely charming and further sold with its original box.
