Reference 1680 was the first ever Submariner to feature a date and a cyclops lens in the plexiglass. Moreover it was the first Submariner to be produced in gold, for clients seeking for a touch of luxury with professional capabilities. The present example is a great specimen in yellow gold, absolutely rare with its originally black dial and unidirectional black bezel for checking decompression time spans. In superb overall condition, this 1680 has a sharp-edged case with nice yellow-gold Oyster bracelet.
