The two-body case with screw down back in yellow gold still retaining its original finishing and conditions with the unusual graduated bezel with no evident signs. The watch is also equipped with a charming “maillons plaquette” gold bracelet with big logo deployant. The absolutely most striking element of this watch is however the dial: its surface is finished with the highly sophisticated honeycomb technique. Preserved in stunning conditions, this work of mastery is embellished with applied gold faceted baton indexes , outer perlage minutes divisions, seconds at 6 o’clock and the unusual designation “Precision” at 12. Highly charismatic example presented in remarkable condition, the present lot is one of the most fascinating time-only Rolex ever appeared at auction in recently years and is further precious considering its notable pedigree being preserved in the collection of a very notable Italian collector for many years until this moment.
