The foundation of Universal Genève dates back to 1894, in the Swiss city of Le Locle and during its long history of over a century it has been able to stand out for the great aesthetic and performative quality of its watches, for the great variety of models offered but above all for being one of the first brands to present wrist chronographs. Moreover, Universal occasionally also tested itself in the creation of very large specimens of chronic and the reference 12515 here offered is definitely one of those. A single glance is sufficient to realise the supreme aesthetic impact of this very watch, featuring an incredibly oversize case measuring 46 mm. Such a large diameter is beyond unusual for the time, and it points to a professional or military intended destination of the piece. The yellow gold case is absolutely well reserved with fine proportions and still deep and visible the reference and serial numbers on the case. The dial is perfect for the vintage lovers, with its age charm and appeal presenting black arabic numerals, outer tachometer scale and the three subsidiary dials for constant seconds, 30 minutes and 12 hours registration.
