The wristwatch here offered is a Rolex Oyster Perpetual reference 1503, an example from the family of OP with Date. The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date made its debut in the mid-1950s, sported a slightly smaller 34 mm case size of the brother Datejust 36 mm. While the men’s Rolex Date was the same size as the men’s Air-King at that time, it provided the added functionality of the date window. So if you’re confused as to what the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date model is, think of it as the middle ground between the Air-King and the Datejust. The two-body case with inclined bezel, screwed down case back and crown, concave lugs of the present lot is in full 18k yellow gold and is impressive for all-original condition and quality of conservation. It is also provided with a very nice yellow-gold jubilee bracelet with Rolex claps marked D’A, the famous South American Rolex producer of bracelets at that time d’Agosto. The dial has a champagne background with applied yellow-gold baton indexes, externally, the outer minutes scale and at 3 o’clock the date wheel. The watch is completed by its original warranty and booklet.
