Breguet is one of the oldest surviving Swiss watchmaking brands, famous for pioneering numerous watchmaking technologies, such as the tourbillion mechanism invented by Abraham-Louis Breguet in 1801. Based on its exceptional heritage, Breguet has released a highly refined, platinum version of the Marine 3460 Chronograph model. The lot here offered is one of the nicest examples ever presented at auctions for its quality conditions and rarity. The case in platinum has a case back secured by 6 screws curved and inclined bezel, coin-edge band and straight lapidated lugs, all preserved in incredible conditions. Trademarks of Breguet, the dial reflects the ability and history of the Swiss brand, with a two-tone hand-turned guilloché decoration, painted black radial Roman numerals on a brushed reserve, subsidiary dials for the seconds, 30 minutes and the 12-hour registration, outer 60-minute divisions, aperture for the date at 6. The luminous blued steel Breguet hour and minute hands are powered by the automatic 576 caliber with 37 jewels.
