Eberhard & Co. was founded in La Chaux-de-Fonds (Switzerland) in 1887 by Georges Eberhard. With the launch of its first chronograph wristwatch in 1919, the firm was recognized as one of the largest manufacturers of watches in Switzerland and known for their fine chronographs. Housed in an oversized 40 mm case, the present watch stands out with its extraordinary good looks. The present watch incorporates an innovative chronograph mechanism: the pusher at 2 o’clock controls the start, stop and reset functions. The lower pusher functions as a “stop and lock” mechanism, controlled by simply sliding the bottom button up towards the crown. This mechanism locks the pushers in order to avoid any accidental actuation, allowing the user to record the indicated time precisely and safely. The present watch stands out by its timeless design and fantastic condition: the yellow-gold case with stepped bezel has a hinge back, all nicely preserved. The silvered dial shows two different scales, the outer telemeter one and the inner snail tachymeter one, with two subsidiary dials for constant seconds and 30 minutes registration. This watch will surely be a great addition for a collector seeking an unusual yet exceptional chronograph in great condition.
