Creativity, bravery and know-how are the values that gave Gübelin its international reputation and allowed the brand to distinguish itself in the world of fine watchmaking and precision. The E. Gübelin house, founded by the Swiss Eduard Gübelin, has been able to build an extremely renowned name for the high quality of gems and jewels supplied to its customers and as a major retailer of luxury watches. Gübelin acted as an official dealer for high-ranking customers of various brands, including Patek Philippe and developed a reputation that soon conquered Europe and the overseas. The first watch shop was opened in 1854 in Lucerne and is still in operation in the Swiss city. The present lot is a demonstration of audacity and craftsmanship for its complex structure. Mainly focused on high-level jewelry, the watch by Gübelin here offered is the perfect mixture between jewelry and watchmaking: the futuristic design of the case magnificently embraces the wearer’s wrist. Made entirely in platinum, its unique structure with the combinations of brilliant and baguette cut diamonds make this watch absolutely elegant. Its timeless aesthetic is heighten by the bracelet shape that perfectly wraps the wrist and its curved structure that confers harmony to the whole jewel. The rectangular silvered dial has applied dot and baton indexes and is hidden behind a curved window embellished with baguette-cut diamonds which, when opened, allows the wearer to see the time. The present watch perfectly embodies the spirit of that epoch, with the aesthetic effect of the piece entrusted exclusively to the case/bracelet execution.
