In the ’20s of the 1900s, watches had increasingly found a place on the wrists of many businessmen. A superb example of the Art Deco modern style and prominent exponent of the roaring twenties, the rectangular example here offered is probably one of the nicest oversized watches ever produced by Patek Philippe. Two year earlier than the Great Depression of the 1929 market, Patek Philippe manufactured the present wristwatch in the perfect standard of style of the time. The case has a two-body composition with hinged case back very thin straight lugs and has been manufactured in platinum. The shape has been ideated to fit perfectly on the wrist, and despite its age it has been preserved in a very nice way. The dial remains faithful to the case and was made with a beautifully preserved silver color and the applied numbers have the iconic Breguet style. To further embellish the dial, has been printed the name “Tiffany & co”. That was an official retailer of watches and Jewels on the American soil in New York City. Designed with a hinged case and gentle curvature and enriched with spade-shaped hour hands, this majestic watch was among the largest, and today retains an impressive and contemporary feel. The watch comes with the extract from the archives confirming material, production in 1927 and subsequent sale on 22 June 1931.
