The lot offered here is a beautiful timepiece from Audemars Piguet’s Jules Audemars collection. The present example houses one of the most historically important movements ever made. From the mid-1950s, brands were searching for ways of proving their technical mastery, like this “Tourbillon Automatique” model, launched in 1986, at the time believed to be the world’s thinner and smaller tourbillon movement. This model features this innovation with a tourbillon specifics on a manual wind movement with 19 jewels and 72 hours power reserve. The 20 m water-resistant case is fully made in pink gold, the 39 mm case is surrounded by a circular diamond-set bezel that embellished the structure. Another important feature is the uncommon dial that Audemars Piguet made white Mother-of-Pearl, decorated in a sunrays style and guillochè pattern, pink Roman gold and round cut diamond-set indexes for the hours.
