The Tank Américaine was designed by the New York Cartier boutique in 1989 and has only been produced in precious metals. If someone wants to make a comparison, it can be said under this point of view that the Américaine is the Day-Date for Rolex. Its case has an elongated and convex shape, with massive lugs and screw back. The watch here is a beautiful execution of the Tank Américaine, perfect for gentlemen as well as ladies. Made in a limited edition of 30 pieces for sale in Italy, in 2000ca, this watch has a silvered dial with engine guilloché engraving, but the iconic black painted Roman numerals have been changed for this special occasion into a very elegant green color that strikes the eyes, matching perfectly with the blued sword hands. The platinum case is in wonderful condition with the octagonal crown topped with the blue sapphire cabochon that contrasts perfectly the case color. Moreover this watch comes with its original box and papers confirming the number 11 of 30.
