Probably the most elegant chronograph in the Daytona collection, Rolex’s exclusive Everose gold alloy was first introduced in 2005, blending gold, copper, and palladium. It was exclusively designed to maintain its rich pink hue indefinitely. The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona reference 116 505, showcased here, highlights this luxurious material with a seamlessly matching bracelet, creating a striking monochromatic aesthetic. Increasingly appreciated by collectors since its discontinuation, the dial aptly named “Sundust” by Rolex features a refined sunray finish in a silverish shade, further adorned with sophisticated baguette-cut diamond hour markers. Whilst it might look “delicate” at first glance, its triple waterproof crown and patented case ensure the waterproofness of the movement from water up to a depth of 100 meters or 330 feet, making this Daytona one of the hardest-working timepieces in the collection, with only the Submariner boasting a better rating. Furthermore, the Daytona 116 500 series, including the present 116 505, features Rolex’s pioneering in-house self-winding chronograph movement, the caliber 4130, with the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute, or COSC, certifying the movement. From 2023, the present Rolex Daytona reference 116 505 is preserved in virtually unworn condition and is further accompanied by its full set of accessories.
