Inspired by the brand’s very own models in the 1950s, Vacheron Constantin’s Patrimony collection has always been a brilliant demonstration of their minimalistic approach and rounded design. A savant mix of sophistication and audacity, the present Vacheron Constantin is a very intriguing watch thanks to its special and kind of unique features. In fact, this Vacheron Constantin Perpetual Calendar watch was launched in 1992, under the reference 49 005, and it is the first perpetual calendar chronograph produced by the Maison. It was produced in 300 platinum pieces like the present lot and less than 500 in pink gold both productions are powered by the same automatic Lemania caliber 1136 QP with 37 jewels, originally based on a stunning movement by Frederic Piguet. The 37.5 mm platinum case shows a beautiful white dial with applied baton numbers, outer calibrated Arabic fifth seconds ring, four subsidiary dials for months and leap year, 12 hours registers and day, 30 minutes registers and dates, moon phases and constant seconds. All is secured by eight screws on the back giving a classic presentation which will prove timeless for years to come.
