In 1977, Vacheron Constantin unveiled its very first dedicated sports watch, the elegant and stylish 222, which would later evolve into the iconic Overseas collection. However, just a few years before that, in 1975, the brand, having contemplated the concept of a casual yet refined timepiece for some time, ventured into the realm of sports and leisure watches with the debut of reference 2215. Produced in a very small number, and still elusive to this very day, the Vacheron Constantin reference 2215 merged the finest aspects of luxury leisure and precision engineering. The present example, offered in excellent overall condition, showcases a large water-resistant brushed stainless steel case with cut corners. Inside, the timepiece is made alive thanks to its certified chronometer, mechanical and self-winding caliber 1096. The combination of rectangular case with chamfered corners, expansive dial opening framed by a stepped bezel, and steel bracelet deliver remarkable wrist presence. Based on Vacheron Constantin’s archives, fewer than 220 examples were crafted in stainless steel, making the present timepiece a must-have for the most discerning collectors.
