The present yellow gold, hunter case chronograph pocket watch, made for a very special occasion, is a truly exceptional piece from Vacheron Constantin, a timepiece that exemplifies the brand’s unparalleled craftsmanship and artistry. At 53.5mm in diameter, the case is generous in size yet retains a sober elegance with its smooth, carefully crafted edges, all preserved in remarkable condition. The allure of this timepiece is further elevated by the stunning engravings on the outer back of the case, featuring a beautiful guilloché decoration surrounding the three letters of the probable first owner. The enamel white dial is a masterpiece in itself, with black minute tracks, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and a 30-minute register at 12 o’clock. The black Arabic numerals for the hours add to the classic design, while the vivid red sphygmometer scale —intended for medical use— injects a hint of color and a sense of purpose into the overall composition. An outstanding example of horological craftsmanship, this watch is a true collector’s treasure.
