Cased in yellow gold and powered by an automatic movement, this “Meteorite Peary” would already be an elegant and slightly eccentric wristwatch by conventional standards. Yet Corum chose to look far beyond conventional boundaries, quite literally beyond our planet. The dial is cut from genuine meteorite, discovered at the historic Cape York site in Greenland, one of the most significant meteorite finds ever recorded. Each dial, by its very nature, is utterly unique: the crystalline Widmanstätten patterns, formed over millions of years in the vacuum of space, create a texture that no human hand could ever replicate. The cool, fractured grey of the meteorite surface contrasts beautifully with the warmth of the yellow gold case and the rich blue accents of the chapter ring and moonphase display. The moonphase, positioned harmoniously on the lower half of the dial, feels almost poetic here, an astronomical complication set against material born in the cosmos. The date indication is discreet, allowing the extraordinary dial to remain the undisputed protagonist. The caseback engraving further underscores the narrative, explicitly referencing the meteorite’s origin and coordinates, transforming the watch into a documented fragment of cosmic history. Preserved in excellent condition, the present example is accompanied by its stamped Corum guarantee, the Certificate of Cosmic Origin, booklets, setting pin and fitted presentation box.
