Founded in 2005, MB&F quickly established itself as one of contemporary horology’s most imaginative forces, redefining traditional watchmaking through radical three-dimensional architecture and avant-garde mechanics. In 2011, the brand introduced the now-iconic Legacy Machine collection, a deliberate departure from its futuristic Horological Machines, drawing inspiration from 19th-century pocket watches while retaining MB&F’s signature mechanical theatrics. The inaugural LM1 debuted with a round case, domed sapphire crystal, dual time displays, and the suspended balance wheel held beneath twin arches, blending classical codes with technical spectacle.The present LM Split Escapement EVO (ref. 04.TR.BG) represents a modern evolution of that lineage. Retaining the hallmark elevated balance wheel floating above the dial, it introduces a sportier execution designed for daily wear. The lightweight titanium case features a screw-down crown, integrated FlexRing shock-absorption system, and quick-set date. Beneath the sculptural display beats the refined movement developed by Stephen McDonnell. Distinguished by its vivid sunburst green dial contrasting with the grey brushed titanium case, this example is preserved in excellent condition and accompanied by its original guarantee and presentation box—an expressive yet wearable interpretation of one of the manufacture’s most celebrated contemporary designs.
