Launched in 2011, the reference 5164 marked a decisive moment: the first complicated Aquanaut, and a clear statement that modern sport could coexist with traditional Genevan refinement. The model preserved the unmistakable rounded-octagonal case and embossed dial pattern of the Aquanaut lineage, yet introduced a highly practical dual-time mechanism. The additional white skeletonized hand indicates home time, while local time is read conventionally. Two discreet apertures on the dial display day and night for both time zones, an elegant and intuitive solution for the seasoned traveler. On the left flank of the case, two integrated pushers allow the local hour hand to be adjusted forward or backward in one-hour increments, an ingenious system that maintains symmetry while ensuring effortless functionality. The combination of brushed and polished surfaces enhances the architectural lines of the Aquanaut design, while the signature composite rubber strap reinforces its sporting spirit. Originally introduced exclusively in stainless steel, the reference has since been discontinued in this configuration, replaced in the collection by precious metal variants, including pink gold and, more recently, white gold. The present example is further distinguished by its double signature, retailed by Tiffany & Co., a detail that adds an additional layer of desirability for the discerning collector. Preserved in excellent overall condition, it is accompanied by its original Certificate of Origin and presentation box.
