The Tank Américaine was first introduced in 1989. Taking its inspiration from the Tank Cintrée, it features a more substantial and squared design, responding to the tastes and expectations of a new generation of clients. It was also Cartier’s first curved and water-resistant case, combining the distinctive architecture of the Tank with a more contemporary and robust construction. The model quickly became an emblematic part of the Maison’s collection. The reference 2505 represents the contemporary large, or Jumbo, version of the Tank Américaine. Crafted in 18-carat pink gold, it is powered by an automatic movement with central seconds and date indication. Presented in absolutely superb condition and accompanied by its original presentation case, the present example represents a particularly attractive interpretation of this modern classic.
