Founded in 1775 by Abraham-Louis Breguet, Breguet occupies a unique place in the history of fine watchmaking, its name forever associated with technical innovation and some of horology’s most celebrated complications, including the tourbillon, perpetual calendar and chronograph. The modern revival of the manufacture remained deeply rooted in this tradition, combining sophisticated mechanics with the unmistakable aesthetic codes of Breguet. Introduced in the 1990s, the Ref. 3617 is a particularly compelling expression of this heritage, combining a chronograph, perpetual calendar and moon-phase indication. It may be regarded as a fascinating contemporary counterpart to the celebrated Patek Philippe Ref. 3970, sharing the same period, complications and the prestigious Lemania 2310 ébauche. The present example, cased in 18K yellow gold, is distinguished by an exceptionally elaborate silvered guilloché dial, incorporating three distinct decorative finishes that give depth and definition to its numerous indications. Furthermore, the watch is offered complete with its original box and certificate.
