An elegant and highly characteristic creation of Piaget’s jewellery watchmaking of the late 1970s and 1980s, the present Hexagonal wristwatch combines an unusual geometric case with the Maison’s celebrated use of precious materials and hardstones. Crafted in 18K yellow gold, the distinctive hexagonal case features softly bevelled edges and a slim, architectural profile, while the matching gold fittings integrated into the leather strap echo the angular form of the watch and create a harmonious continuity between case and bracelet. The warm, richly banded tiger’s-eye dial is the undisputed focal point of the timepiece, its natural chatoyant surface displaying subtle variations in golden and brown tones that change with the light. Signed Piaget, the dial is kept deliberately minimalist, with elegant gilt hands allowing the stone itself to remain the principal decorative element. The solid gold caseback is engraved with the reference 9559 D and individual number, further highlighting its original construction. Powering the watch is the manually wound Piaget calibre 9P2, an exceptionally slim movement emblematic of the Manufacture’s expertise in ultra-thin watchmaking.
