Tiffany & Co. is Patek Philippe’s longest serving retailers and partner, celebrating last year the 170-year alliance between the two giants. In the course of these secular relationship, not many were the examples that had the privilege to be signed by Tiffany on the dial/case and the lot here offered is one of these rarities. The present timepiece is a very nice specimen of reference 5396 that was introduced to the market in 2006 in pink gold and pays tribute to the firm’s celebrated Calatrava model, launched in the 1930s. The smooth pink gold case is of the distinctive, classic round Calatrava style of reference 96 and stands out by its large size. Matching perfectly with the 18k pink gold case, the dial is silvered and offers an excellent legibility to its wearer, with a day and month aperture typical of the 1940s and ’50s, and a date mentioned at 6 o’clock alongside a 24-hour indication with moon phases. This very watch is also supplied with its original Certificate of Origin signs by Tiffany that attests its sale on 13 June 2019.
