The ref. 765 was produced for a few years, from 1955 to 1962. Today it is known to exist in yellow, pink or in white gold for a total fewer than 100 watches were made. Interesting fact for clarifying how this model timepiece was important is that in 1955 a ref. 765J such as this one was retailing for SF 1710, compared to SF 1135 for a Calatrava ref. 96, so way more expensive than one of the most appreciated models of that period. This very watch has a three bodies yellow-gold case with reeded bezel and back edge, deep engine turned checkerboard pattern, epitomizing the style of the ’50s. The gold checkerboard engine turned dial has gold-faceted baton indexes and pyramidal indexes that with time have oxidized, elevating the character of this already very charming timepiece even further. It is also particularly special as it is signed by the Venezuelan retailer Serpico y Laino. Exceptionally rare, the watch has been retained in very crisp and original condition still offering the S&L engravings on the U-shaped bow.
